Welcome to Silsoe VC Lower School and welcome to the PTA
All parents, carers, teachers and governors are automatically considered members of our PTA. We have a core committee comprising of Co-Chairs, Treasurer, Secretary and Communications officer.

We are always looking for more active members and helpers to assist with running our events for both the children and the adults, so please do get in touch if you’d like to hear more.
We are growing, but so are our hopes for events and activities for all in the 2023/23 school year and beyond.
We would love more help and support to be able to do all the things we want to do. No time commitment is too small and there are loads of different things to get involved with.

Upcoming events and activities include:
– Monday 22 May – Pre-loved uniform sale
– Saturday 23 September – Autumn Fair
We are looking to put on our usual and some new fun events for both children and parents/carers and family to get involved in.
Past events include Happy’s Circus, adult-only quiz night, donut sale, design your own water bottle, the Rainbow Run and countless school discos.
At Christmas we have regularly helped with the santa float and put on a santa shop for the children, as well as carol singing, Christmas raffles and more.

The on-going support and incredibly generous donations received from our school families allows our children to benefit from additional resources that the school budget alone cannot stretch to. These are some of the things we have purchased in the last few years:
- Christmas Pantomime for all Children
- Christmas Party Boxes
- Playground Play Equipment and Playground Markings (approx. £10,000)
- New Library Resources
- Eco Warrior Resources
- PE Equipment and Lunchtime Games
- Weather Station
- Window Shades for the Hall
- New Laptops
- New Books for Oak Class
- Planting for School
- Remembrance Garden
We also contribute towards school travel costs each year, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
The Giving Machine is a free to use online shopping website. You can sign up and select Silsoe VC Lower School as your charity, then use the app to do your online shopping in the normal way with well-known brands such as M&S, Next and Tesco.
